The Department of Planning and Zoning works with local residents and business people, all departments at Town Hall, and particularly the town Planning and Zoning Commission:

Two areas of Branford — Pine Orchard and Short Beach — maintain their own zoning regulations. They are independent of the Commission and the Department of Planning and Zoning except with regard to subdivisions and coastal site plan reviews.
